Case Study: Multi-Site Technology Upgrade for Thai Basil & 202 Bangkok

———

Client: Thai Basil (Villa Rica, GA) & 202 Bangkok (Carrollton, GA)
Service Provider: Jack Reclamation Co.

The Challenge

The owners of two local Thai favorites, Thai Basil and 202 Bangkok, faced a complex set of technological needs across two separate physical locations. Their requirements were extensive but, like many local businesses, they did not have a “Fortune 50” budget to execute everything at once.

Key challenges included:

  • Disparate Locations: Difficulty in communication and resource management between the Villa Rica and Carrollton sites.
  • Diverse Technical Needs: The list of requirements was broad, including sound reinforcement, technology cleanup, high-security protocols, IP camera presence, increased internet speed, and guest Wi-Fi.
  • Budget Constraints: The clients needed to upgrade their digital engagement but required a strategy that allowed them to consume costs over time rather than a massive upfront expenditure.

The Approach

Jack Reclamation Co. employed a product-centric approach focused on active listening and iterative development. Instead of proposing a massive, all-encompassing overhaul, the team sat down with Kong and Juana to establish a feedback loop, ensuring the owners truly understood their own needs.

The strategy shifted from a “complete replacement” model to an iterative approach. The goal was to identify what could be done right now to deliver the highest impact, allowing the business to stage out costs while still seeing immediate benefits.

The Solution

The implementation was phased to maximize value and manage the budget effectively:

  1. Unified Infrastructure (Omada by TP-Link):
    • Utilized a managed solution from Omada to tie both locations (Villa Rica and Carrollton) together.
    • Created a centralized network that allowed for better communication and resource sharing between sites.
    • Enabled centralized tooling for access to ordering systems and IP camera feeds from either location.
  2. Security & Connectivity:
    • Implemented high-security protocols and IP cameras where needed most.
    • Added Wi-Fi access points to extend range, specifically covering outdoor spaces like the back deck at 202 Bangkok.
  3. Sound Reinforcement:
    • Modernized sound systems in phases, starting with the areas of highest need.
    • Simultaneously handled sound and connectivity upgrades during the renovation of the 202 Bangkok back deck.

The Results

By adopting an iterative strategy, Jack Reclamation Co. delivered a modernized technology stack without breaking the client’s budget.

  • Cost Efficiency: The owners were able to leverage savings and handle upgrades in stages that aligned with their cash flow.
  • Operational Unity: The two locations now operate as a cohesive unit with centralized management tools for ordering and security.
  • Enhanced Customer Experience: The outdoor spaces at 202 Bangkok now boast modern sound reinforcement and reliable connectivity, improving the guest experience.
  • Scalability: The backbone is now in place, allowing for future expansions as the business grows.
